Alert on continuous glucose monitors
Certain FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors are being recalled because they can provide incorrectly low glucose readings.
The FDA recently issued an early alert about a recall of certain FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors from Abbott Diabetes Care. The sensors (model numbers 72081-01, 72080-01, 78768-01, and 78769-01) have been found to potentially provide incorrectly low glucose readings and should be removed from where they are used or sold. As of Nov. 14, the manufacturer has reported 736 serious injuries and seven deaths associated with this issue, according to the FDA.
